Kiwese is proud to present dastardly Dunedin noise duo Night Lunch in China for this mega 13-date tour!
Night Lunch is a band made up of two people named Liam who met in Dunedin, New Zealand. They make loud music about working shitty jobs using a home made two-string bass and a drum kit.
Their music contains a lot of down tuned and distorted tones, monotonous and repetitive riffs and fast, driving drums. There’s also lots of silly yelling. Most of their songs follow a format of two simple riffs getting heavier and messier as they repeat.
Night Lunch are influenced by a lot of punk and metal conventions, but also draw on noise “rock” influences. Bands like Lightning Bolt, Beak, ILYs, Neu!, Wax Chattels, Sleaford Mods are some core influences.Their songs are expressions about the environment and the economy, capitalism, horror, trash, waste, ghouls, punishment, mean heartedness, menial labor, the trappings of middle New Zealand, alienation, family.
Night Lunch has recorded 4 E.P’s, including two at Roundhead Studios in Auckland, with producer and engineer Steven Marr. They have released all their music w/ Dunedin label trace/untrace.
